Private Student Loan Debt Validation — How It Works

PSLA Center built the debt validation program for private student loans over 12 years ago. No one has more experience. 99% success rate. Free consultation — (858) 799-0381.

What Is Private Student Loan Debt Validation?

In 2012, when federal student loan programs were being introduced and millions of private loan borrowers had nowhere to turn, we built the debt validation program specifically for private student loans — from scratch, with no blueprint to follow. We founded PSLA Center in 2015 after three years of proving the program worked.

No other organization has been doing this longer. Anyone else claiming to offer private student loan debt validation today learned it from what we created. Our depth of knowledge, case experience, and track record is unmatched in this specific field.

Debt validation is a legal process rooted in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) that requires a collection agency to prove — with documentation — that they have a valid, legal right to collect on your specific debt.

PSLA Center formally invokes this right on your behalf, challenging the collection agency to produce complete documentation of their legal ownership of your private student loan. This includes an unbroken chain of ownership from the original lender through every subsequent transfer to the current collector.

Why This Works for Private Student Loans

Private student loan debt is uniquely vulnerable to documentation failures. A private loan may originate with a bank, be sold to a trust (like NCSLT), assigned to a servicer, and then sent to a collection agency — each step requiring proper documentation. When any link in this chain is missing or incomplete, the collection agency cannot legally prove their right to collect.

Courts have consistently dismissed private student loan collection cases — including major cases against the National Collegiate Student Loan Trust — when agencies failed to produce adequate ownership documentation.

The 4-Step Process

1

Free Consultation

We review your situation at no cost. You tell us about your loans — lender, amount, current status. We determine if you qualify for the program.

2

Program Enrollment

If you qualify (private loans, minimum $15,000, in default/collections/behind on payments), we enroll you in the debt validation program. Cost depends on your total debt amount.

3

We Dispute the Debt

We formally challenge the collection agency's legal right to collect on your specific account, requiring them to produce complete legal documentation of ownership.

4

Debt Invalidated

If the collection agency cannot produce the required documentation — which many cannot — the debt is legally invalidated. Our success rate is 99%.
